I made some Garlic Parmesan Breadsticks (2 SP) using the 3-ingredient dough, a variation of the 2-ingredient dough that is all the rage on Instagram. I know people get frustrated with the stickiness of the 2-ingredient, and this way is even a bit stickier, so let me give you some tips for working with both:
- For most recipes, when using 1 cup of flour for 3+ servings, you can add 2 TB extra flour without increasing the points. Use this to flour your hands, work surface, and the top of the dough as you knead.
- Use a mixer until dough forms a ball, then knead with hands. It’s best to use a stand mixer with a paddle attachment, but I’ve used a whisk attachment before and it was fine. I’m sure a hand mixer would work.
- Add the yogurt into the bowl, then add flour on top. This way, whatever utensil you’re using to help knead will make contact with the dry ingredient first, thus making it harder for the dough to stick to it.
Garlic Parmesan Breadsticks
Servings: 8 breadsticksIngredients
- 1/2 cup plain, non-fat greek yogurt
- 1 egg
- 1 cup + 2 tbsp Gold Medal brand self rising flour
- 1 tsp garlic powder divided
- 2 tbsp light butter (I use Balade brand from Trader Joe's)
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 2 tbsp parmesan cheese, grated
Instructions
- Knead together yogurt, egg, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, and 1 cup + 1 tbsp flour (reserve extra tbsp for flouring your hands and dough when it gets too sticky).
- Roll out dough into a log shape, then cut into 8 pieces. Roll each piece into a breadstick shape (about 8 inches long). Arrange on a cookie sheet sprayed with oil.
- Cover dough with a kitchen towel and let rise for about 5 minutes. They'll rise even more in the oven.
- Bake at 400 for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, microwave butter, oregano, and remaining 1/2 tsp garlic powder until melted.
- Remove breadsticks from oven and brush with 1/2 the butter mixture. Sprinkle with parmesan and bake for another 5 minutes. Remove from oven and brush with remaining butter mixture.

I don’t see the Parmesan listed in your ingredients? Did you use fresh grated or the pre-grated stuff in the container?

Oops! This was one of the first recipes I posted, so that’s my excuse haha. I used 2 tablespoons of grated parmesan. I’ll update the recipe. Thanks for letting me know!
