Satisfy your sweet-tooth with this all natural low sugar jam. Make it your own by customizing the blend of berries and then go to town and spread the love!
A lot of people ask me why I don’t post more dessert recipes. I try to stay away from sweet because I lose all self-control when it comes to desserts. Because of this, I typically just make sure they’re never in the house, or I’ll make a healthier treat. Skinny Double Chocolate Brownies or Chocolate Banana Muffins are my current favorites. I like to share with Jeff or my friends at work.
Another go-to treat is peanut butter and jelly on a low-carb wrap. I use powdered peanut butter (like PB2) and sugar-free jam to keep it low in points. When I started trying to eat more whole/clean foods, I had to actually LOOK at the ingredient lists of my so-called “healthy” foods. It was pretty scary. Take a look at this label…
I saw the random chemicals I was putting in my body to curb my sugar cravings and realized that I needed to lower my taste and tolerance level for sugar. I’ve been weening myself off of artificial sweeteners and it’s helped a lot with the cravings.
This is why I’m in love with this 2-ingredient jam method! It’s all about cooking frozen fruit down with some cornstarch–super simple. Yes, it’s not as sweet as your regular jams, but I like that I’m getting accustomed to the natural sugars and sweetness of fruit rather than artificial additives.
If you find that you want your jam a touch sweeter, you can feel free to add some applesauce or natural sweetener like monk fruit sweetener and adjust your WW points (if applicable).
How to make 0 SP jam – no sugar added.
This 0 SP jam comes together in under 15 minutes. Check out my IG reel to see just how easy it is.
Adding natural flavorings and spices allows me to be creative and customize the jam so it’s always seasonal. Strawberries + lemon zest = summer. Blueberries + cinnamon + nutmeg = fall. The possibilities are endless!
This easy homemade jam can be stored in the fridge in a tightly-sealed container. Enjoy within 7 days.

0 SP Jam
Ingredients
- 10-16 oz frozen fruit of choice (my favorite are blueberry or raspberry)
- 1-2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- *optional lemon zest, cinnamon, nutmeg, etc. (depends on the fruit/spice combo you like)
- *optional unsweetened applesauce or natural sweetener such as monk fruit sweetener, to taste
Instructions
- Add frozen fruit and any optional ingredients to a medium saucepan. You can use fresh fruit, but you may want to add some water as you cook to get the right consistency.
- Dissolve cornstarch in water; start with just 1 tbsp cornstarch. Add to fruit and bring to a boil.
- Lower to simmer and reduce for about 10-15 minutes, until it reaches your desired consistency. Add extra cornstarch dissolved in a bit of water to thicken as needed. Note that the jam will thicken as it cools, too.
- Use an immersion blender, transfer to a regular blender, or just keep it chunky. Whatever you like!

Hi Geri, thank you so much for this
great recipe! I had blueberries in the freezer that were pining away so I made blueberry jam. I added more cornstarch as I like it thick, and lemon juice in a bit of salt. Scrumptious!
